AI Training Ushers in a New Era for Parish Communication
By Teresia Muia
Church communication in the Nairobi Archdiocese is taking a bold leap forward thanks to innovative artificial intelligence training spearheaded by the Loyola Centre for Media and Communications (LCMC). On November 26 and 27, 2024, thirty parish communication agents participated in a transformative two-day workshop at the Dimesse Retreat Centre in Karen, Nairobi.

Dr. Elias Mokua, Executive Director of LCMC, shares valuable insights with parish communication agents on leveraging AI to streamline communication processes within the church, during a workshop at Dimesse Retreat Centre, Karen.
The program, led by LCMC, focused on equipping participants with AI tools to enhance content creation and streamline communication processes within parishes. James Kimani, one of the trainees, described the experience as invaluable, saying, “I would recommend this training to anybody who carries out the communication role at their parish. It will significantly improve how we communicate and share information.” Another participant called the workshop an “eye-opener,” noting its resourceful approach to modernizing communication strategies.
LCMC’s initiative reflects its commitment to advancing technological integration in church communication. As a leader in AI training, the center continues to bridge the gap between traditional communication methods and modern digital tools, empowering parishes to engage more effectively with their communities. This workshop marks yet another milestone in LCMC’s mission to foster innovation and transformation in ministry.
