Visualizing Beyond the Present: Technology, Formation, Governance

We begin with profound gratitude to God, the giver of life, who sustains us even as we navigate a world marked by conflict, uncertainty, and rapid transformation. In the midst of these challenges, we give thanks for the resilience of the communities we serve and the hope that animates our work each day.

      To Our Donors and Sponsors

We are deeply grateful to our donors and sponsors whose generosity and commitment keep our programs alive and thriving. Your investment in our mission enables us to reach educators, parents, managers, young people, and community leaders across Eastern Africa. Without your partnership, our vision of holistic formation and ethical leadership would remain unrealized. You are the backbone of everything we do.

      To Our Partners

We also extend heartfelt thanks to our collaborators and partners, including the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, Hekima University College, religious leaders across denominations, and countless individuals and organizations working alongside us at various levels. Your networks, expertise, and shared commitment to justice and human dignity strengthen our collective impact and expand our reach into communities that need us most.

"With intentional formation, strategic thinking, and values-based leadership, we can harness technology’s potential while mitigating its harms."

We find ourselves in an era of unprecedented technological change. Artificial intelligence and rapid digital innovation are reshaping how we work, learn, relate to one another, and understand ourselves. While these technologies present real opportunities for development, enhanced decision-making, and improved outcomes across sectors, they also embed significant risks and disruptions that demand our careful attention. At LCMC, we believe that with intentional formation, strategic thinking, and values-based leadership, we can harness technology’s potential while mitigating its harms.

      A Brief About Our Programs

Our programs are designed for this moment. Through the Angaza Dialogue Program, we mobilize communities to strengthen transparent governance and create enabling environments where young people can thrive, addressing systemic barriers that limit opportunity. Our AI and Digital Literacy Program equips managers and organizational leaders to move beyond foundational AI awareness to strategic deployment of AI and AI agents in real world contexts, enhancing decision-making through improved systems thinking and strategic foresight.

LCMC Community Program Activities Empowering communities through active dialogue and holistic education.

The Management Communication program develops managers with the advanced communication competencies essential for navigating technology-driven transformation, enabling them to streamline workflows, increase productivity, and manage the risks that rapid change brings. Through Value-Based Education, we foster character formation and ethical leadership among children and youth, instilling values that create responsible citizens.

Finally, our Media, Children and Identity Formation program recognizes that children are being fundamentally shaped by media and technology. We equip content creators, educators, caregivers, parents, teachers, counsellors, and child development professionals with practical tools to guide healthy identity formation, protect children from digital harms, and empower them to navigate technology with wisdom and discernment.

Central to our mission is the Youth Apostolate, through which LCMC plays a vital role in accompanying young people of the Province on their spiritual, intellectual, and social journeys. We recognize that young people today are navigating unprecedented complexity: they are digital natives coming of age in a technology-saturated world, they are seeking meaning and purpose amid social fragmentation, and they are yearning for authentic community and connection.

Through our Youth Apostolate, we provide formation opportunities, mentorship, and platforms for dialogue that help young people develop critical consciousness, ethical grounding, and a sense of their vocation to serve society. Equally important, we serve as a bridge connecting young people of the Province with the broader international Jesuit networks and the global Church community. This connection expands their horizons, deepens their sense of belonging to a worldwide movement for justice and human dignity, and opens pathways for collaboration, learning, and shared mission. In this way, LCMC becomes not only a centre of formation but a gateway to global networks of faith, learning, and transformative action.

These programs reflect our commitment to work at the intersection of media, ethics, and public accountability to build systems and leaders that enable children and young people to flourish. We believe in the power of intentional formation, critical thinking, and values-driven action.
